How to Swing an Iron – You Will Be Amazed at What You Can Do on the Golf Course With These Tips

If you are like many golfers you have asked yourself, “How to swing the iron?” You may be thinking that you are past the age where learning how to hit the ball with a golf club is a common thing for you. Many younger golfers are now hitting balls with driver-ruler clubs and want to know how they can do it at any age. Believe it or not there is a way that almost all of the professional golfers use to teach their swings. Even if you are a newbie to golf or aren’t in the best physical shape right now, you can still learn how to swing an iron.

How to Swing an Iron – You Will Be Amazed at What You Can Do on the Golf Course With These Tips

When you go down to your local golf course you will see all of the professional golfers hitting the golf balls on the green. Some of these players are older than you and they are using more advanced techniques. You may not want to copy what they are doing but you can still use their techniques. If you really want to learn how to swing the iron then you should take a look at what some of the older players are doing.

There are two types of golf swing technique that most golfers will tell you to improve on. Your backswing is what will get the club head to impact with the ball. The other technique is your downswing where the power from your body gets transferred to the club. Both techniques are important to your success as a golfer so let’s take a look at how to swing an iron.

The first technique that you need to work on when learning how to swing the iron is staying on plane. This means that your shoulders, hips, and knees should all be lined up parallel to the target. If you are off plane then your irons will either start to twist or you won’t hit the ball straight.

If you aren’t lining up properly then it’s likely that you aren’t really pulling the club head back in a good direction. To remedy this problem you should stand a few feet away from the golf ball and look towards the hole. Make sure that your stance is correct and that you are in good position to address the ball. If you have trouble getting this right then the best advice is to ask one of your golf buddies to watch your swing. They should be able to help you get on the plane more easily than you can.

The other thing you need to remember if you want to learn how to swing the iron is to keep the club head on the plane. One thing that many golfers do is they try to swing too fast. The problem with trying to swing too fast is that it can cause you to lose distance. When you are swinging a golf club you want your clubhead to contact the golf ball on a very nice plane so that it will stay in contact with the ball. If you do not achieve this then your swing speed will be less than what you should be using.

So here we go… First, we need to take a look at some basic information about the stag logo and the irons that Nicklaus uses. Here is a link to one of my favorite irons that Nicklaus uses, the PGA Tour Professional Irons by Dan Parelli. Here is a link to a picture of one of Nicklaus’s clubs, the Titleist DT Carry & Play titanium. Here is a link to a picture of one of Nicklaus’s custom clubs, the Callaway HX Diablo II irons. Now we need to take a look at the stag logo.

The official logo of the USGA is a black eagle. So, for our golf swing speed comparison, if you look at the logo closely you will see that it has a black eagle sitting on a white background, which is the official colors of the USGA. So, now that you know how to swing an iron using the PGA Tour Golf irons and the Callaway HX Diablo II irons, you are ready to hit the links. I hope these tips have been helpful. Good luck on your golfing experience!
