Three Great Golf Courses Near Greensboro North Carolina

The City of Greensboro in North Carolina offers a wonderful opportunity to experience a course by the lake, in Leslie Park Golf Course. The Lake is surrounded by beautiful North Carolina countryside and Lake Norman. Municipal course providing 18 or 9 holes within pastoral surroundings, with a beautiful creek running through the course. There is another North Carolina golf course by the Lake which is called “The Majestic”. This golf course was built by the late Robert von Hagge who designed some of the most prestigious courses in the country. He designed this course with a layout similar to the Majestic. It is located at the “Deck” on the left side of Lake Norman. Two other courses are located near this golf course which are “Golf Course at Ann Arbor” and ” Lakeside Resort”.

Just a stones throw from these two luxurious courses is the “Old Cathedral Golf Course”, which has been named the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame. Built in 1931 this is the oldest golf course in Michigan. Ann Arbor is about a 3 hour drive from Greensboro. About an hour north of Greensboro is Lake Norman which is the second largest city on the North Carolina coast. It is located on the Lake Of The Okeland. This is another beautiful golf course with the Leslies Park Golf Course located on the south side of the city. The golf course at Lake Norman is about an hour and forty minute drive to downtown Greensboro.

About forty minutes north of Greensboro is Charlotte, North Carolina. This is about three hours drive to the northern part of Greensboro. This would be a good addition to your golf vacation as you get to play the famous Robert Trent Jones golf course right here in Charlotte, NC. Another course just north of Greensboro would be the Ron Laver Tennis Center which features the famous tennis court surface.

If you are looking for a golf vacation where every element of the golf course is within easy reach of the player, you should visit the city of Lexington in Lexington County. This is about three hours from Greensboro. The “Meadowlands Course” is constructed of links which were originally put together when a group of hikers wanted a course which was free from man made components. This is another highly regarded course which has hosted the U.S Open and British Open Golf Cups. This course is about two hours from Greensboro, so it will still give you plenty of opportunities for a great round of golf even if you are not that far away.
